FortiOS Workshop (NEC only)

The Wavelink team is excited to offer our in-person two-day free Fortinet technical workshop for NEC.

The bespoke workshop will consist of modules introducing FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, SD-Branch, and vulnerability management and remediation. It will also cover various core FortiCloud Asset Management components required by partners and customers.

Course overview:

Day 1:

• FortiAnalyzer: Gain hands-on experience and see how the solution provides organisations with advanced logging and reporting, Security Fabric analytics, and Security Fabric automation.
  • Understand the benefits of using FortiAnalyzer to simplify security operations centre (SOC) activities.
  • Use playbooks to automate workflows and reduce the workload on the security team.
  • Use FortiGate event handlers to automate actions via automation stitches.
  • Work with analytics logs and generate custom reports.
• FortiManager: Gain hands-on experience by implementing key capabilities of the Fabric Management Centre and applying them to centrally manage the HQ and branch networks of a fictional organisation from a single pane of glass.
  • Understand the benefits of using the Fabric Management Centre.
  • Reduce operational complexity and security risk by simplifying and automating deployment and network monitoring.
  • Centrally manage a device’s configuration, including policies, IPsec VPN, and SD-WAN, using the graphical user interface (GUI) and scripts.
  • Improve time to compliance readiness with pre-built reports, as well as customise and create new reports.
  • Reduce risk by automating response to security events with network-aware response actions.

Day 2:

• SD-Branch: Learn how enabling FortiLink between FortiSwitch, FortiAP, and a FortiGate seamlessly integrates these devices into the FortiGate network security platform.
  • Create a FortiLink interface.
  • Authorise FortiSwitch and FortiAP devices.
  • Create virtual local area networks (VLANs) and firewall policies.
  • Create wireless service set identifiers (SSIDs).
  • Configure radio frequency (RF) parameters.
  • Assign firewall policies to FortiGate interfaces.
  • Implement network access control (NAC) policies to control the devices and users that have access to their networks.
• Vulnerability management and remediation: Learn about the Fortinet Security Fabric, the first ever architectural security approach designed to dynamically adapt to unique needs of modern network environments, all while facilitating the move toward automated protection against sophisticated threats.
