When an emergency arises, response time is everything. Spectralink’s enhanced DECT solution ensures workers can trigger an alarm wherever they are, allowing emergency responders to receive real-time location data, thanks to the BLE-enabled integration with iBeacons.

Here’s how it works:

  • When a worker triggers an alarm on their DECT handset, the device immediately transmits the alert—along with the name and ID of the nearest iBeacon, determined by signal strength.
  • This data is sent via XML API from the Spectralink IP-DECT server to the customer’s alarm management platform.

The result is rapid and precise emergency response—eliminating delays in locating the worker. This is invaluable in complex, multi-level buildings, sprawling warehouses, or busy care facilities where visibility is limited and traditional location tracking (e.g., radio triangulation) has limitations.
